There are two textures: a smooth velvet and a soft ribbed material. Both are incredibly soft.
The material feels good quality and it seems well made. It feels really lovely to hold and touch.
You can't actually do much with it - you just keep turning it (a bit like turning it inside out on repeat) But the repetitive motion, and the fact that you can just keep doing that over and over it's a really comforting, calming, soothing sensory experience. I keep noticing that I'm picking it up without really intending too, to hold it, stroke it and have a little play.
It is quite expensive for what it is. That said, it's hard to put a price on feeling comforted, calm and soothed! So, if it continues to have that impact, perhaps it's a small price to pay and well worth it!
