Each year CGM, as the SVA Service Extension Unit in our county provides quality of life gifts to our local skilled nursing facilities. This year the project was in collaboration with the memory care unit. As with sensory / fidget items, dolls and therapy pets; these items may not seem like a quality of life measure. When the sounds and light stimulation from one's environment become overwhelming, blocking out any level of that over stimulation can be very calming. The use of music therapy along with these headphones can bring calm to the unit.
