The system holds up to twelve large to extra large briefs before it
needs to be emptied. Emptying is very easy. Just open the front access
door, cut the liner with the door mounted safety cutter, and then tie a
knot at the end of the liner to form your next bag.
The refill is easy to replace when empty. The 11 gallon Diaper Pail comes ready to use right
out of the box with one refill already installed for you.
The Akord has various elements that contribute to its ability to conceal odor so well:
1. ABS
The Akord is made with Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) resin, which is a sturdy, durable material that is easy to clean. ABS allows the Akord to seal in odor because it is non-porous. The Akord is actually made with 20 percent recycled material, making it eco-friendly.
2. Double Sealing System
The Akord's double sealing system is another feature that allows it to trap odor and prevent it from escaping.
3. Continuous Liner System
The Akord has a continuous liner system that allows any size bag to be created for waste. There is also no plastic bag over-hang, the outer frame and lids are sealed and waste can be directly deposited into the liner. The liner is also 100 percent biodegradable and will fully degrade within a 9 month to 5-year period.
4. HDPE Liner
Along with a continuous liner system, the Akord uses a 15 micron thick, stretch-resistant High Density Polyethylene(HPDE) liner. Traditional liners are thinner, usually 6 to 12 microns thick, so odor may not be contained. With the Akord HPDE liner being so thick, it works very well at trapping odor and keeping it sealed in tight.
